Oprah
versus Fat: How She Can Win
by Elixxir
"Oprah:
I´m out of control! She balloons to 257 lbs" The headline
screams, with two unflattering pictures as evidence. Okay, okay! I admit
I got this news from a thoroughly impeachable and reliably disreputable
source: The National Enquirer. But let´s assume for a moment its
small army of lawyers are smart enough to keep its client from straying
into the no-no zone of actionable libel. Let´s assume there might
be some truth to this story.
That Oprah is once more losing her lifelong see-saw battle against weight
and fat. If so, what went wrong, Oprah? And what can you do about it?
Oprah, your prior recorded "high" was in 1992. At a whopping
237 pounds. A dubious "milestone" which made you dread what
should have been your hour of
glory - accepting a coveted Emmy. 257 pounds is only 20 more pounds
than your prior "high" - or is it low? So it´s not implausible.
Oprah, you thought you had gotten it. After all, with Bob Greene as
your personal trainer, you had managed to slim down from 237 pounds
to 148. No mean
feat. In fact, you were so convinced this was it you co-authored a book
with Greene, made him a constant guest on your show, and turned him
into a bestselling
guru.
What went wrong? Guru Greene decreed that Oprah must "(e)xercise
aerobically, five to seven days each week." You were required to
exercise in the zone (at
a level seven or eight). Translation: grueling gym-torture stuff. In
addition, your daily workout must be at least one hour! And on top of
all this, you Oprah must abstain from any alcohol (even though moderate
drinking is scientifically proven to be an excellent tonic for your
cardiovascular health). What went wrong? Guru
Greene?s program was unsustainable.
Oprah, look at Guru Greene´s 10-step program. First, nothing in
it gives you a new lifestyle. This despite the fact that you, Oprah,
understands that for a diet
to work, it must be a lifestyle. Second, Guru Greene´s program
does not equip you with a new worldview. One which reprograms your mind
to support (not sabotage) your goals of losing weight, becoming healthier
and slimmer, and, yes, looking better.
Oprah, you were a house divided! While your body was sweating to become
slimmer, healthier, more attractive, while it knew fat was bad for your
heart
and a real-and-present danger to your life, your Mortalist mind was
telling you to not be so vain, to not be so frivolous, and to "accept"
your body and
weight as "God-given."
Since you´re a nice person, Oprah, you´ll probably protest
that it´s not Guru Greene?s failure, but rather your own weakness,
your own lack of discipline,
your own sloth in not working an admittedly difficult program.
But Oprah, you have had the self-discipline to tape a daily talk show
for 13 years! You´ve had the drive to keep it at the top of the
ratings game all this time!
Aside from your talk show, you´ve had the energy to make movies
and launch probably the most successful new magazine ever. You have
repeatedly shown the
ability to postpone instant gratification to achieve your longterm career
goals.
Are you telling me, Oprah, that you´re less disciplined, less
driven, less strong than the followers of Farrakhan´s Nation of
Islam? How is it they´re able to get on and stay on their "impossible"
regimen. To abstain from pork, cigarettes, drugs, and even alcohol!
How when not a few of them suffered from a terminal case of "lack
of impulse control?" When not a few of them were self-confessed
drunks, junkies, drugdealers, pimps and hustlers? Certainly, they are
not more special or stronger than you, Oprah!
So how did they pull off their "miracle?" Their new religion
gave them a new lifestyle and worldview. Which imparted the support,
the strength they need to
adhere to their "impossible" regimen. And pronto, they acquired
the power, the discipline, and the perseverance to do what they couldn´t
even imagine before. And this is true for people on the Kosher diet.
Or on the strict vegetarianism of Hinduism or Buddhism. Billions of
very ordinary people. Thriving on diets which seems "impossible"
to us.
This is what distinguishes The Elixxir Program, and what makes it work.
It comes with a new lifestyle and a new worldview. Something lacking
in Guru Greene´s
well-intentioned 10-step program.
And a big bonus, Oprah, you lose weight on The Elixxir Program by staying
young! Youthful bodies are generally slimmer; older bodies are generally
fatter. Then why are increasing number of chronologically-young Americans
fat? The same reason
why more and more of the "young" are becoming diabetic. They
are aging at an accelerated rate. Diabetes and obesity are diseases
which speed up our
biological aging. They are normally diseases of the old. The best way
to shed your fat pounds is to slow down your aging process.
If you do more of the same, you´ll get more of the same. Why not
try a program which Dr. Atkins, The Zone´s Barry Sears, and The
New York Times all agree
is the only scientific anti-aging life-extension program known to modern
science. And why not find out from Elixxir how to turn this scientific
eating program into la dolce vita? And while you´re slashing your
risk for a heart attack or stroke, and fending off old age with The
Elixxir Program, your excess weight will drop like Enron stocks.
